* PĂRINŢII *

Nu sunt pe lume mai mari Sfinţi, Nici bogăție nu-i mai mare, Decât să-i ai pe-ai tăi părinți, Ce ţi-au dus greul în spinare.

Şi nici ruşine să nu-ţi fie,

Cu ei să te mândreşti mereu, Ei sunt dovada cea mai vie, Te-au sprijinit când ți-a fost greu.

Ei te-au hrănit când ți-a fost foame, Mereu să ai de îmbrăcat, Te-au pus cu fața la icoane, Să te închini te-au îndemnat.

Te-au învăţat să fi onest, Pe nimeni tu să nu răneşti, De rău, să nu faci nici un gest, La bunul altui să râvnești.

La câte rele am făcut, În bine voi m-ați convertit, Şi aţi făcut tot ce-ați putut, Să nu-mi lipsească mai nimic.

Aţi făcut tot ce se poate, Aţi făcut tot ce-i firesc, Mi-ați oferit ce-i bun din toate, Şi de aceea vă iubesc!

There are no greater Saints in the world, No wealth is greater,

Than having your parents, They carried burdens on their backs for you, child

And don’t be ashamed, Always be proud of them, They are the most living proof,

They supported you when it was hard.

They fed you when you were hungry, Always have something to wear They put you in front of icons, They urged you to worship.

They taught you to be honest, Don’t hurt anyone,

Too bad don’t make a move To covet another’s good.

How many bad things have I done, You have converted me to good, And you did your best, May I not lack anything.

You have done everything possible, You did everything that came naturally, You gave me the best of everything, And that’s why I love you!
